Volvo and Renault China Card will carry Nissan Diesel Engine

Prior to the launch of the new Euro 6 car, Volvo and Renault’s mid-truck type used the German Deutz engine as a source of power. This is understandable, because now Volvo is one of Deutz’s major shareholders. However, since the launch of the new Euro 6 car, the two brands of the Chinese card engine will have great changes because the Nissan Diesel engine will become a new choice.

Since Volvo acquired Nissan Diesel in 2007, the Japanese heavy-duty vehicle manufacturer has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volvo, but because of market strategy, Nissan Diesel's products do not have much overlap with Volvo and Renault Trucks. The launch of the new Euro 6 car gave Nissan Diesel the opportunity to play. Nissan Diesel will use two engines for Volvo and Renault. They are the in-line 4-cylinder GH5 and the in-line 6-cylinder GH7. Both machines have a new common rail system.

In addition to Volvo's new FL and FE trucks and Renault's new D-series trucks, the new engines will also be supplied to Volvo Group's city buses and coaches. It is reported that the smaller GH5 engine will replace the Deutz 4-cylinder engine on the Volvo B5L passenger car chassis as a parallel hybrid double-decker bus engine.

The new Renault medium truck D series with Nissan Diesel will soon be a 3.5-ton urban logistics distribution vehicle. It is the smallest model in the Renault Truck family, basically a brand-name Nissan NT500 truck.

In fact, in the field of automobile manufacturing, it is not uncommon for different models of the same group to use the same engine, which greatly reduces the cost of engine R&D for each brand.
